This was so lovely that it was my go-to cocktail through some of the coldest nights this winter. I never did get my garnish to float, though.

The Essential Cocktail, Dale DeGrof
1 1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz green chartreuse
1/2 oz sweet vermouth
dash orange bitters
Combine gin, chartreuse, vermouth, and bitters in a mixing glass with ice. Shake well. Strain into a chilled glass.
Garnish with a cherry and a piece of lemon peel on top.
